Baby Berg # 2 is....

Baby Berg is...

We are so excited to announce that Baby Berg # 2 is a BOY!!

I felt like I "knew" that it was going to be a boy. But I was in utter shock when he was actually a boy!! :) haha.Funny isn't it.  It was so fun to watch him on the screen and see his face squished agained my placenta, see his arms and legs, and of course the gender identifying "junk"! We are so excited to be adding a little boy to our family!  Jordan of course is excited that boys will be the dominant gender again. :) (porkchop, Jordan and baby boy vs me and Adeline)

Lately- and some exciting news!

First things first! We are so excited!!!

Adeline was "stuck" so I had to take a picture before I rescued her. hehe.

I totally think this baby is going to be a boy, because so far (in my 12 weeks of pregnancy) I have been craving meals, feasts. I dream of thanksgiving and big hearty meals. Like this one, I made at 11 PM. With Adeline I craved sweets. With Adeline I also craved milk and pickles, NOT this pregnancy.

I also joined a MOPS group at our church! We just had our first meeting, and I am really excited for this year!

During my morning (all day) sickness days, we had snack in our bed, she is just too cute not to share this picture.

She loves to play outside! I love how this picture captures her movements when walking/running.

You can't really tell, but she fell down our deck stairs and has a goose egg on her forehead. However, this photo captures her beauty so nicely. :)

Here is baby # 2!! They changed my due date to April 26th based on baby's measurements, fine by me.  I am planning on this baby being a May baby. Because I remember when I was 39 weeks with Adeline I would wake up heart broken I hadn't gone into labor while I was asleep, and I really don't want to do that to myself again. We don't have a nickname for this baby yet. Adeline was named "ice" because I thought it was funny, "ice berg" :) Nothing has stuck yet.

Adeline is really serious about her bath time playing. :) Believe it or not, she really was having a blast!

I will be doing bumpdates! Maybe starting this week. ;)

My maternity pics

these were taken December 1st

The ones outside were set up by me, and my sister helped make sure we looked good and snapped the picture!

I can't believe in just a few days my baby girl will be outside of my belly! Not in!

My beautiful baby girl via 3D ultrasound!

I just am so in love with her little cranky face and those gigantic cheeks and beautiful lips. It was such a fun and SURPRISE to get a 3D picture of her! I went in for an ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid ( I have A LOT LOT LOT) and she is a big baby. and my ultrasound tech got everything she needed so quickly she said lets try and get a 3D picture for you! It is a picture of a picture so quality is a little less. This was such a great sneak peak, and now I can't wait to have her come out and snuggle!!

Funny labor and delivery dream & some cute photos!

The other night I had a dream I went into labor and had my baby, and I couldn't remember ANY of it! I had to ask my husband how it went and what went down! He told me (reminder this is all a dream) that I made it all naturally, but they had to put me in a dark padded room, and that I threw up and pooped through the entire labor/delivery. My favorite midwife delivered the baby. In my dream my baby was bald and light colored hair, and I didn't remember anything until we were at home with the baby.

Funny isn't it? I am getting so excited and anxious for her arrival! Bed rest isn't really helping the time go by fast either! My muscles are killing me(shoulder blades mostly) and I think it is from bed rest... I need a good massage!! My husband does a great job at making the pain go away at the time, but the next day it always seems to come back, and I feel awful always having him massage me, he has a lot going on, and I am sure massaging my shoulders are not on the top of his list on things he wants to do. :)

Me on 12-28-12
Since it has been SO long since I have posted anything BUT weekly updates here are a few extra pictures... sorry they are crappy cell phone pictures... but on bed rest there isn't much I can do! And funny thing... I have EVEN LESS motivation than I did before I was put on bed rest. Here is the link for why they put me on bed rest

update at 37weeks+6 days

I will get my bumpdates up to date probably tomorrow. But just thought I would tell you they put me on modified bed rest Wednesday the 19th. Due to high blood pressure. Which totally stinks! I am not sure what to make of it. I fear that my body won't handle labor and I will have to have a C section. I am really hoping that isn't the case. But I know it really doesn't matter if that is what I need. As long as baby and I are safe that is what really matters.

I can't help but feel bummed out that I might not get the birth experience I was hoping for. I wanted a water birth, with no IV's and no complications. I wanted to sail through pregnancy with nothing wrong and have everything be perfect. I wanted to feel beautiful and perky and have endless amount of energy during pregnancy and show off my belly to anyone and everyone that would look! Unfortunately that has not been the case. I haven't had a troublesome pregnancy by any means!! But through my entire pregnancy I have struggled with sleeping and being tired a lot, and then now towards the end with the high blood pressure and being put on bed rest, really stinks.

I am worried that this may deter my husband from wanting more kids. For me none of this is that big of a deal, and I hope that I do not burden him with any thing that is going on with me, but I fear that having these little "blips" of imperfection in my pregnancy will deter him from wanting more kids, and I just don't want that! And if I have to have a C section I do not want it to deter him from wanting to have more kids. I just don't want these things going on to affect him or his thoughts in anyway negatively towards having more kids. Is that silly? Am I just hormonal!? LOL. He hasn't said anything at all about it, but I just worry that he is making mental notes for the next time we want to go through this. I am sure if he read this he would probably be doing a HUGE eye roll on me talking about future kids. Sorry hunny. I just don't want what I am going through now to affect our future. That is all.

beautiful pics of moi,3rd trimester hormones & a beautiful quote

"A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me.

It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it's ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it."

-Author unknown

I have been wanting to take some nice maternity pictures of myself, my husband and I are taking some ourselves this weekend, but I knew I wanted to try some more "artsy" ones as well. I wanted to feel beautiful. I have really been struggling with that (more than I thought I would). I just don't feel beautiful and I don't feel that anyone sees me as beautiful and pregnant.

I really am happy with how these two pictures turned out, however it was not easy going. There was lots of tears and I may have told my husband I hated him... during this picture taking process .. in which he said "I think these are 3rd trimester hormones coming out again" I love my husband. He is so true and honest, and I love the way he comforts me.

PS- the obsessive labeling of the TGB photography is mainly because this is my body, without my face, and I don't want people to steal these pictures of my body, because I am still insecure, just trying to work on loving who I am..

2nd trimester picture collage

I love seeing my growing belly! It is just crazy to me to watch! SO much fun! I look back thinking I was "big" and compared to now... I totally wasn't! haha!

The second trimester was different than I had expected. I was no longer sick, which was great, but I did struggle with sleeping, and I was so anxious to feel the baby kick and waiting to find out if the baby was a boy or girl! I felt like most of my 2nd trimester was waiting. It was still really enjoyable and no aches and pains, just "waiting". I felt my first 2 kicks at 16 weeks, but then not again until 19 weeks and then it was still really inconsistent, and each week would become more consistent!

pregnancy weight gain so far..

I am going to start from the beginning... ish.

December 2008 I got engaged to the love of my life! I knew I wanted to marry him immediately. He was my dream guy. For realz. I was at my heaviest, and extremely insecure when he proposed. My clothes didn't fit, my fiance was thin and I was getting married! eeks!

December 2008- Aug 2009 I joined a gym, watched what I ate and lost 25 lbs, I was looking good, still had about 10 lbs to lose, but I was happy with my looks for my wedding day butI  had dreams of losing 30 more lbs to be where I was when I was 15 years old ( I have since came to my senses)

After the wedding about 10-15 lbs came back on after several months (oops) and I started getting mad at myself and then started working on losing more weight again.

2010 we bought a house, and a couple months later, we decided we would start trying to have kids. I got off birth control and all of a sudden the weight was piling on, while I was trying to lose weight. I couldn't figure out what was going on, and the next month I didn't get my period, I had hopes I was pregnant... but the tests were negative, 3 months later with more weight piling on and still no period, I was starting to think something was wrong. 4 months with no period and significant weight gain I went to the doctor with a small (dreaded) suspicion I had PCOS (my sister was diagnosed with it a while back) and after a couple doctor visits I was diagnosed with PCOS too.

I started running, eating healthier, but still had hard time maintaining my weight, I was always gaining, I slowed it down quite a bit, but I swear if I let myself have a "free" day, I would gain 3 lbs and it would always stay and not go away!

2012
still off and on about trying to actively lose weight, and reaching my heaviest. I started P90X. I was loving it. 3 days later, I found out I was pregnant (one of the happiest days of my life) and that is the day I stopped P90X as well.

I was super worried about being overweight and pregnant, it caused me a lot of anxiety. I did so good for awhile,  and then I just started gaining weight. I had a couple weeks where I gained 4 lbs! My midwife says not to worry about it as long as I am not over indulging, my body is going to do what it is going to do and the baby probably had big growth spurts those weeks.

I have struggled with the weight gain, but now I am finding peace with it. I am drinking my water daily, I am not too swollen, I have a little swelling in my feet and hands, but not very much. I have stretchmarks, regardless of how often I lotion.

But I want my baby to be healthy, and I don't want to malnurish my baby because I don't want to gain another ounce during this pregnancy. I am beautiful for who I am, and my body is beautiful and knows what it is doing. I have a beautiful baby bump. I have salads for lunch most days and eat healthy dinners. I try to always eat my protein.

I am AWFUL at walking, or doing any sort of exercise!! but I can't expect perfection, and I am just telling the truth. I suck at the exercise part. Which I do kick myself for...

it was really hard to reach my fattest and feel beautiful, but I know I am eating healthy,ahem- mostly, don't get me wrong, I still indulge once in a while, and maybe more than I should, but I am finding a balance between my struggle with my unhappiness with my weight and enjoying my pregnant body/self.

At 32 weeks I have accepted I have gained more than I want, I don't have anxiety about it anymore, and I know that I will keep making healthy eating choices, eat lots of protein, drink lots of water, and I know once that baby comes out I will not be this weight.

pregnancy weight gain was harder on me than I expected. I knew I would gain weight while I was pregnant, I mean DUH, but I took it hard. It was hard for me to watch, it was hard to accept, and it weighed on me. I never would have guessed in a million years that seeing the number on the scale go up while being pregnant would have been so hard to accept!

But I have done it! I have accepted it, and I know that I will change this number on the scale as soon as this baby comes out! :)

Oh and of course EVERYTHING we women go through during pregnancy is worth it times a million!!

first trimester picture collage

I am finally organizing my pregnancy photos! yay for more time! I have my weekly pictures (week 7- 31) being printed as we speak to be put into my belly book! I love looking back and remember thinking I was "so big" and so proud of my belly, and now I realize it wasn't that big! LOL. Well at least compared to now! I look back at 1 these first trimester pictures and I am getting excited to have my body looking that way again (and even better!)

Of course I am more excited to welcome this little miracle of ours into the world. But looking forward to losing the bump in the front (which I already know I will miss feeling her move around, but I will definitely appreciate fitting into my clothes better!)

So here is the 1st trimester picture collage

Look at week 7.. No stretch marks.. so much smaller than i am now! haha! I love it!

I am thoroughly enjoying this pregnancy! It has flown by and I can't believe on Saturday I will be 32 weeks! WOW!!

possibly a gorilla

If there is any truth to the old wives tale that heartburn/acid reflux in pregnancy means your child will be born with a lot of hair... I think my baby is a gorilla. HOLY MOLY THE HEARTBURN AND ACID REFLUX!

her kicks make me laugh

sometimes I feel this little girl kick, it makes me giggle!! It feels so funny sometimes! The really hard ones (that are still pretty soft in my opinion) I can feel my skin moving out, it makes me laugh! It is just so neat! :)

Gender reveal! & my high risk doctor appointment

my husband thinks I look sad in this picture, when in fact I was making a kissy face, that its a girl! LOL

We are having a baby GIRL!!! We are so excited!!!

We got to see her on the ultrasound for an hour while they checked her all out. They checked, measured and pictured everything! It was awesome! They spent SO MUCH TIME on the heart, my husband and I both started to get a little worried, because the ultrasound tech wasn't saying a word.  Hubby and I were anxious to hear about our little girl, especially since we had just found out a friend of ours got some possibly upsetting news, it made it so much more real that these things are possible to not go as planned. But after the ultrasound the doctor walked in and said "she is perfect!" that was just amazing to hear, and I don't think I will ever forget seeing the doctor open the door, walk 2 steps and say "she is perfect" in that hardly lit ultrasound room.
The high risk appointment with the doctor-
which was the reason for the hour long ultrasound, generally they do 20 minute ultrasounds for the 20 week (so I am told) but with this one, they check EVERYTHING OUT, and then the pernatoligst comes in and talks to you, about the baby, and about yourself. So I told you the part about our baby being perfect and then we talked a little bit about this so called "hypertension" (which only happens when I am excited, I have been tracking it every day at work, and its always perfect) She said she doesn't think I actually have hypertension, but to be on the safe side she recommends a 3rd trimester ultrasound, which my midwife can perform.
Then onto my MTHFR mutation. (blood clotting disorder) I am heterozygous for this mutation. That means I am low risk for blood clotting.  She also told me, although they say this is a rare blood clotting disorder she has found it isn't all that rare,  in fact 15% of my fellow Minnesotans have it. I don't need to take baby aspirin and she doesn't need to see me anymore! I am not high risk! I may have to be monitored at the end a little more closely, because my excitement causes high blood pressure(and it really isn't all that high), but I am hoping yoga will help me stay more focused and less anxious when the time comes. Speaking of yoga, I need to make sure I do that every day... I have done it once so far... :)

20 weeks!

How far along: 20 weeks!
Total weight gain: 12 lbs!!! eeks!!! 3 lbs in one week, not good! I did just have a big food day at work yesterday, so it wouldn't surprise me if I dropped a pound later this week.
Maternity clothes: still making due with the belly band and a couple shirts. A friend from church let me borrow some of her maternity clothes so that is awesome!! A couple things will definitely work! But a couple won't. but i am so thankful for anything, because my pickings are so slim!!
Best moment of the week: the 20 week ultrasound!! :) I will reveal in the next post what Baby B is!! :) Feeling her kick on a daily bases, multiple times a day!
Food cravings: chocolate
Food aversions: nothing really.

Symptoms:
boobs sore- still there, way less prevelant though
cramps- no
tiredness- better since I am not sick anymore!!
irritability- back to normal. :)
acne- better this week!
bloat- I am going to say its all baby now. :)
burning muscle pain in upper abdomen- all gone!
Movement: yep! And I swear I feel the baby get stronger by the day!
Gender: reveal coming next!
What I’m looking forward to: stronger kicks! I love feeling this baby move!! I can't get enough of it!
What I miss: I get tired pretty easily, but this is so minor!!
Next appt: August 24th, I had my high risk appointment on the 17th, (more on that in the next post) now to see my regular midwife on Friday! :)
How big is baby: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

wearing a badge of honor...

also known as stretchmarks.

I got my first little stretchmarks at 10 weeks. I was a little worried, but I kept them at bay for a decent amount of time... and I was feeling hopeful that my belly got the hang of this whole "stretching thing", and would stop.

WELL THEY ARE BACK!  and reproducing like crazy! I lifted up my shirt in the bathroom, to check out my growing belly, like I do all the time. ( hehe) and there they were... small ones, peppered all over my belly!! eeks!! It freaks me out a little bit. I get a little worried, "what in the world is my belly going to look like at the end?!"

However, I have to take a step back and realize that this is just another sign that my baby is growing nice and healthy inside of me.

I have dreamt of this day for as long as I could remember. I have always looked forward to pregnancy, and all that came with it. ( I have learned some things, aren't as cool as  I thought.. AKA morning/all day sickness and fatigue..just to name a few)

I am hitting the most exciting times in my pregnancy (in my opinion)

We are embarking on a journey I have waited my life for!  I will wear my stretchmarks with pride, and as a badge of honor. God has blessed me with being able to be a mother, carry and bear a child. He has blessed my husband and I with something that seals us together forever! Honestly. How amazing?! And how worth every second of anything we go through to get this precious life!

so bring on the stretchmarks! (in the meantime I will still be lotioning my belly at every available moment)

back when we were dating :)
I love this man so much, and I am so grateful to have him as my husband and also the father of my child and future children! We make a great team! :)

How far along: 19 weeks!
Total weight gain:  9 lbs

Food cravings: chips and cheeeeessse
Food aversions: nothing really.
Symptoms:
boobs sore- still there, way less prevelant though
cramps- not too mcuh

Movement: totally! It is super sporadic and only a couple times, but I can't wait until Jordan can feel baby!!!
Gender: We find Aug 17th
What I’m looking forward to: feeling more kicks! Seeing my baby on the ultrasound! Finding out if its a boy or girl!
What I miss:  I get tired pretty easily, but this is so minor!! I love being pregnant!  I can't wait until I am big, people can feel the baby kick and when we know if its a boy or girl!!
Next appt: August 17th! Baby ultrasound and also a doctor appointment immediately after that! :)
How big is baby:
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid. (www.babycenter.com)

Next appt: August 17th! Baby ultrasound and also a doctor appointment immediately after that! :)
How big is baby:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound. (from baby center .com)
