watermarking and a really adorable newborn!

I have been really trying to come up with a consistant watermark. And I just haven't. I haven't came up with anything that I absolutely love and want to use it on every.single.picture. I love the color behind my name, but I like to change the color. My business name always comes up different size on the picture. I don't like that. I feel like it is inconsistant, and as a business I need to be as consistant as possible.

Here are two examples of me playing last night. They just don't look the same. ya know? Similar, but not the same. Anyone got any ideas?
Isn't this baby adorable! She is so sweet! The pink tutu and headband are mine I bring with sessions and I just can't help it. I love it! :)

PS- the pictures have been downsized to fit on this blog  ( I think the bottom one is a little too downsized)

  1. I can only imagine how difficult coming up with a watermark must be! I'm not a photographer but I like seeing pictures with simple watermarks, nothing too distracting, yet still gives credit. Here are some that I personally like, maybe you'll find some inspiration in these, maybe not :)

    1. yea I like those. I have tons of ideas! My problem is figuring out how to do them the way I want them done, but I do have a couple ideas on what I can do... so we will see, I think my problem before was I made it as a brush template. and i could change the size and never made a consistant #, I think i will try a consistant #.

  2. I don't have a business and don't use a watermark on my photos -- guess I just figure people should know better than to take them without my permission. I'd probably google "watermark" and I'm sure there's likely some links to tutorials or sites you might find helpful.

    Cute patootie photos! :)

    1. thanks. :) Yea, unfortunately many people do use pictures without permission. :( But it is also a good way for people to know who took the picture if they like that persons work and such! :)

I have definitely googled lots of how to watermarks. I make my own, but my problem with that is consistancy. But I will just have to play more and figure out what i want and love the most and stick to it regardless. :)

  3. First of all the photographs are spectacular. A suggestion that I have on the watermarks is this. When I put mine on I take note of three things font type, size, and amount of fade. I find the only thing I usually have to play with is the amount of fade, depending on the colors in the picture. If you take note though of those three things then you have a starting point, and it's usually just small adjustments from there.

  4. I like the top watermark better, as it's a bit more subtle and blends in with the photos. One photographer I saw recently put three watermarks on her pictures - one in the top, one in the center (usually over the face) and one in the bottom right. It seemed rather overboard - and it was annoying to look at the pictures. I think something simple is best, but I can understand how it would be hard to pick one that you like. :) Good luck!
